A section of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to express their support for Andre Gomes after he tweeted an interview he had given explaining how much he is looking forward to his comeback.
The on-loan Barcelona midfielder is yet to play for the Merseysiders since his deadline-day arrival but is in line to return at some point after the international break and show supporters what he can do.

Gomes’ post on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon generated plenty of responses from Evertonians keen to see the Portugal international in action when he has overcome his injury problems.

It is clear Evertonians are looking forward to seeing Gomes don the blue jersey for the first time. They have had to be patient as the Portugal international joined with an injury he had sustained over the summer, and was never expected to play until after the international break. When the midfielder is fit and firing, he should provide a new dimension to an Everton midfield that has plenty of grit and energy, but not too much in the way of proven guile. Gomes failed to secure a regular starting role at Barcelona after his £30million transfer from Valencia in the summer of 2016. But Barca’s loss is Everton’s gain and Gomes will bring some string-pulling class to the centre of the pitch at Goodison. The expectation is that he will be used as the central midfield creative force in unison with one or other of regulars Morgan Schneiderlin, Idrissa Gueye and Tom Davies.
