Adama Traore’s Wolves team mates have been praising the winger after his match-winning display off the bench against West Ham on Saturday.

The Spaniard, a club record £18million signing from Middlesbrough this summer, converted the game’s only goal in the 94th minute to hand the visitors their first Premier League win since their return to the top flight.

And the 22-year-old’s fellow players were delighted with his contribution: “He’s unique, you just can’t stop him,” full back Matt Doherty told the Express & Star. “He’s one of a kind. We haven’t seen anything like him before, it’s scary.”

Conor Coady was equally enthusiastic: “I wouldn’t want him running at me, believe me,” he said. “He’s so quick but his decision-making as well; he’s got total confidence in his own ability which I think is special as well. He’s a real asset to this football club.

Centre back Ryan Bennett concurs: “When he played against us for Middlesbrough he was an absolute nightmare, so you know how the other team feel. When he gets in his stride there isn’t anyone who’s going to catch him.”

OPINION

Traore certainly provides something different for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side. His pace is frightening, and no Premier League defender will be looking forward to facing him this season. At just 22 years of age there is plenty of time for him to get better, as well, so Wolves supporters should be very excited about watching the Spaniard for many years to come. His introduction off the bench on Saturday changed the game, and it says so much about his talent when you see his team mates praise him so vociferously. His introduction into the squad since his signing has been fairly slow so far this term, but expect to see him causing havoc amongst opposition defenders after the international break. Nuno will have been delighted to bring him in this summer, as he provides a stunning combination of pace and power which is largely missing from this Wolves team when he’s not on the pitch. He’ll be a big player for the Molineux team this season.
