West Brom have joined the hunt to sign in-demand Hastings United midfielder Adam Lovatt, according to ClubCall.

The news outlet claims that the Baggies sent a scout to keep close tabs on the 18-year-old as the south coast club won 9-2 against East Grinstead on Tuesday night.

TeamTalk has recently reported that Lovatt is attracting attention from the Premier League, with Watford, Crystal Palace and Brighton also checking on Lovatt.

It is understood that Blackburn, Sunderland and Luton are also interested in the non-league ace.

Good move for West Brom?

Not much is going to be known about Lovatt, but the fact that he was involved in a 9-2 win while he was being watched by the Baggies will certainly help his cause.

Hastings United are also second in the Bostik South East Division table, with Lovatt playing a key role in their fantastic early season form.

At just 18 years of age, the midfielder is showing a lot of potential and to be wanted by so many clubs in the top three flights of English football says a lot about his ability.

Lovatt probably won’t cost a lot either to pry him away from the non-league side, so there is not really any risk involved in taking a look at him.

Likely to happen?

A lot of clubs are interested in Lovatt and at this stage, West Brom have only been scouting him, so it would be premature to say that any kind of deal is going to happen.

West Brom do have a great youth set-up though and that could certainly sway Lovatt’s decision if he had the choice to move anywhere.

With the Baggies being in the Championship and having a shortage of creative midfielders, he could also see that Darren Moore’s first team is currently easier to get into.
