Some West Brom fans were left drooling over Harvey Barnes as the Leicester loanee pulled the strings in the 4-2 win against Bristol City on Tuesday night.
Barnes, 20, supplied two first-half assists before scoring a sublime goal himself after the break to round off an impressive display at The Hawthorns.
A section of Baggies supporters were completely blown away by the twinkle-toed ace, with one claiming that he is the “English Messi”.

Shaky start, but improved. Phillips and Gibbs sticking to the wings like glue – so much space! Barnes immense. Midfield looks more solid with Barry, half time beer required. Bristol must change 2nd half, keep your heads lads #WBA

OPINION
West Brom fans are simply running out of superlatives for Barnes – what a signing he has been. Not many at The Hawthorns had heard of Barnes before he was snapped up on loan from Leicester in the summer transfer window, and some even questionned Darren Moore’s decision to bring him in. However the Foxes loanee has been an absolute revelation and is already looking as though he is nailed on for personal accolades at the end of the season. You can see why these fans are absolutely loving his displays. The Baggies have not had someone as exciting on the ball as him in a very long time – perhaps Jason Koumas is the most recent example. Hopefully Leicester do not recall Barnes in January but based on his form, you couldn’t blame them for wanting him back as long as he is playing first team football. His development is much better served with Albion though.
