A section of West Brom have slammed Ahmed Hegazi for his performance in the 4-2 win against Bristol City at The Hawthorns on Tuesday night.
Even though the Baggies steamrolled their way to victory, Egypt international Hegazi was at the centre of a lot of criticism on Twitter with many taking issue with his inability to pass the ball out of defence.
Some West Brom fans were clearly worried by the centre-back, with one even suggesting that he needs to be sold as soon as possible.

And people moan about Bartley…… Hegazi can’t defend, pass, dribble or mark. Apart from that he’s alright #wba

@mattwilson_star I’m all for playing out the back, but our players aren’t the ones to do it. Maybe Gibbs, but hegazi definetley isn’t the type who wants to be on the ball

OPINION
West Brom have no difficult in finding the net, but they have a lot of issues in defence that need sorting out, which is odd considering Darren Moore was a very solid centre-back in his playing days. At the moment, the Baggies are winning games by adopting the idea that they have to outscore their opponent, regardless of defensive performances. Hegazi is without doubt one of the weakpoints in this side. He is not a very good defender and a lot of the praise for him last season was severely misplaced. Even though it was a good win on Tuesday, these West Brom fans still found the time to tear into the Egypt international and in a way, they cannot be blamed. It is only a matter of time before Hegazi is seriously found out by sides and it is going to hurt the club’s results as the season drags on.
