Tottenham are interested in 20-year-old QPR midfielder Ebere Eze, according to the Sun.

They claim that the the youngster is attracting Premier League sides and “most notably Tottenham” after breaking into the QPR side last season.

He scored his third goal of the season against Millwall in midweek on the back of signing a two-year contract extension last month.

And teammate Nahki Wells thinks that Eze is ready to hit the top.

“I can see why QPR fans are so excited about Ebere”, Well said in the Sun.

“He’s the best young talent I’ve played alongside, on a par with Kasey Palmer. I know a lot of people will probably be surprised at me saying that as he’s only just at the start of his career – but he’s an unbelievable talent.

“I wouldn’t tell him this to his face, but there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind he can go on to become the best player in this league.

“He can go all the way to the very top – he’s got the right mentality.”

OPINION

Tottenham fans will be glad to hear that their side is actively pursuing new signings after one of the most disappointing summers in the club’s history. They didn’t sign anyone in the summer transfer window and that’s been linked to a noticeable slump in form this season. Spurs wanted to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish, but after a summer of courting and delaying, Tottenham lost out. Now it looks like they’ve got their sights set on another talented Championship midfielder. Eze might not have that much experience but the QPR fans are hugely excited by him, as is his teammate Nahki Wells. The 20-year-old has three goals in eight Championship appearances already this season and won’t stay under the radar too long if he carries on playing at this level. The Sun claims that Premier League sides were scouting him when he scored his third goal of the season against Millwall on Wednesday, and if Tottenham are serious we can see them trying to land him in January.
