A section of Celtic supporters have been reacting angrily on social media to central midfielder Olivier Ntcham’s display in the 0-0 draw with St Mirren on Friday.
The 5ft 11in Frenchman [Source: Transfermarkt] was sent off after 36 minutes against Oran Kearney’s side, leaving the Hoops to fend for much of the game with 10 men.
Unsurprisingly Celtic fans were less than pleased with Ntcham’s showing, with many of them asserting that the 22-year-old looked like he wanted to get sent off.

This is why ntcham isn’t as good as everyone makes out ! There’s no denying the boy has quality but after every man of the match performance comes an absolute stinker !!

OPINION
Ntcham’s performance on Friday was so disappointing, coming from a player with so much natural ability. He simply never looked interested, and quickly went about his business of getting sent off. To receive two yellow cards in 36 minutes, not to mention the numerous other challenges he got away with, was really quite spectacular. Coming off the back of a match-winning display against Rangers, his hot-headedness against Kearney’s side was really poor. There was no need for him to make the challenges he did, and it probably cost his team two points here. If he were to stay on the pitch then Celtic surely would have claimed victory. Instead his team mates had to toil for much of the game without him, and Brendan Rodgers eventually had to settle for a point. His manager will have been delighted with him after the Old Firm win, but rather less so after Friday’s display.
