Graham Roberts was left drooling over Harry Kane and Davinson Sanchez for their performances in Tottenham’s 2-0 win against Huddersfield at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday.
Kane’s first-half brace was enough to see Mauricio Pochettino’s side return from Yorkshire will all three points in the bag, moving them up to fourth in the Premier League standings.
Spurs legend Roberts was thrilled with the England international’s display up front, but refused to ignore the solid defensive effort of Sanchez as the Londoners kept their first clean sheet since the win against Manchester United last month.
“Kane was excellent but for me Sanchez was superb today. Won every single header,” said Roberts via his personal Twitter account on Saturday.

Tottenham have managed to get themselves back to winning ways as they picked up their third win on the bounce after what was dubbed as a ‘crisis’ by some parts of the media and fans’ of other clubs. Pochettino is going to face a massive test next week though as Spurs welcome Barcelona to Wembley on Wednesday for their next Champions League group game. One thing that Spurs have been able to do in the last couple of seasons is step it up a notch against big sides. Last season they beat Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund and have already beaten Man United this term. It will be hard to get all three points against Barca, but a draw would definitely be a solid result for the North London club. After losing to Inter Milan at the San Siro, avoiding defeat is necessary because this is going to be a very hard group to get out of with two early defeats.
