A number of Rangers supporters have been left calling for the return of loaned-out midfielder Greg Docherty after he was left celebrating his first goal for temporary side Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
The 5’8″ (Source: Transfermarkt) 21-year-old was sent out on a season long loan deal to the Shrews this summer and netted his first strike in a 1-1 draw against Portsmouth, taking to his personal Twitter account to celebrate.

Opinion
The Rangers fans are as loyal as they come and are obviously keeping a close eye out on those away from Ibrox but still on their books. However, those calling for his immediate return to the club are a big over-excited, for he really would not bring much to the side and would be left struggling for any meaningful game time. However at Shrewsbury he is obviously making an impact, and after netting his first goal both the League One side as well as everyone at Rangers will be hoping this is the start of a hot streak for the youngster. He has plenty of developing to do before he can even think about forcing his way into the plans of Steven Gerrard, but impressive displays like the one against Portsmouth will do his case no harm heading into the future. With the likes of Scott Arfield already at Ibrox, he could learn plenty from experienced stars when he does move back to Glasgow.
