A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to social media to express their delight at the performance of 18-year-old midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White after he was named in the starting XI for the League Cup clash versus Leicester City on Tuesday.
The teenager is very much on the fringes of the first team under Nuno Esperito Santo this season, with just 32 minutes of Premier League action in the club’s opening six games, but after starting the second round win over Sheffield Wednesday, he was once again chosen to play his part against the Foxes.
The Molineux faithful were left drooling over his performance against the former Premier League champions, with many noting he looked at ease in the centre.
This is Futbol has gathered a selection of the supporters’ tweets:
Playing fine for a second string. We are just spoiled on Saturdays. MGW doesn't look out of place at all.

Opinion
The fans might be a little biased over Gibbs-White considering he is a homegrown talent at Molineux but there can be no doubting that for an 18-year-old against Premier League opposition, the youngster performed exceptionally well. Yes, he might have had a couple of nervy moments but that was not helped by the fact he was playing alongside players who are generally second choice at Wolves. If this is the future at the club then the supporters should be excited, for as much as they can splash their cash on big money signings, there is nothing like a talent who has come through the youth system and takes his place in the starting line up week in, week out. Gibbs-White might be some way off that, with the likes of Ruben Neves ahead in the pecking order, but with plenty of time to develop and grow, things are looking bright for Wolves.
