Wolves legend Steve Bull has been drooling over midfielder Joao Moutinho, admitting that the Portugal international was a “snip” at £5 million.

Bull was full of praise for Moutinho’s goal in the clash against Manchester United last weekend, and reckons that his link-up play with fellow midfielder Ruben Neves is excellent based on recent displays.

He has also admitted that the midfield maestro was a bargain when Wolves snapped him up for £5 million this summer, and has urged agent Jorge Mendes to “keep fetching” players like Moutinho in the future.

“Moutinho’s goal was an absolute classic with the way he curled the ball into the top left corner. We were all out of our seats thinking that is an unbelievable goal,” he wrote in the Express and Star.

“Moutinho is a superb player and him and Neves compliment each other all day long in the middle of the park. Getting him for £5million was a snip to be fair. Mr Mendes is getting all these players and he knows his football. All I say is keep fetching them.”

OPINION

It comes as no surprise that Bull has heaped praise on Moutinho in the way that he has, as he has been superb for Wolves so far this season. He has proved that he is one quality player, and so far that has proven dividends for Nuno Espirito Santo’s team. Playing alongside Neves in the middle of the park, he is unstoppable, and the duo could easily match the midfields of some sides ranked higher than them. Like Bull pointed out, he was a “snip” at £5 million. He has proved to be an absolute bargain for the Midlands based outfit, and there is no doubt that come the end of the season, top teams will be eyeing his services based on his performances. Fingers crossed that he can continue to churn out these impressive showings, as he is exactly the type of quality that Wolves need to guarantee their top flight status this season.
