West Ham will not sell players in next window

|

West Ham United are in no rush to sell players in the next transfer window, according to club insider Claret and Hugh.

The insider – who are a reliable source of news on the Hammers – have revealed that the board are not rushing to reimburse some of the money spent on talent earlier this summer by selling players in January.

They add that the Irons’ top brass are relaxed about the £100 million that was spent, and only two players are now on the list to exit the door at the London Stadium in a few months’ time.

Striker Jordan Hugill and attacking midfielder Edimilson Fernandes are said to have been offered to Fiorentina and Middlesbrough, clubs where the pair are currently on loan to, leaving their futures in East London looking bleak.

Good move for West Ham?

Yes, it is a good move, especially as they have spent a staggering amount in order to obtain players – so there would be no reason to offload just yet.

Apart from the two being offered to their loan clubs, no one is expected to leave in January, which will undoubtedly prove to be a major boost to Manuel Pellegrini.

Not getting rid of anyone will allow him to rotate his squad more freely, which will be essential when some players are injured.

Likely to happen?

It’s in the balance. It remains to be seen whether the board will stick to their word and close the door on winter transfers in January – that is three months away after all.

They may have changed their stance by then, as it is not guaranteed that they will feel the same about selling players then as they do now.

It depends on whether the owners suddenly decide that they want to cash in – but we will just have to wait and see.
