A number of Tottenham fans have turned to social media to reveal their disappointment at seeing Hugo Lloris revealed to still be recovering from his injury blow as the club give a team news update for their clash with Brighton.

The Lilywhites revealed via their official Twitter account that both Dele Alli and Moussa Sissoko had stepped up their recovery efforts after being sidelined through injury, but that the French shot stopper was still some way off from a return.

Despite the positive news about the midfield duo, it was the absence of their club captain which had fans devastated on Twitter, with many bemoaning the thought of having Michel Vorm back between the sticks after his disappointing display versus Liverpool last weekend.

This is Futbol has gathered a selection of the supporters’ tweets:

Opinion

It goes to show how highly thought of Lloris – and how much the fans are unimpressed by Vorm – is when the supporters turn to Twitter to vent their frustrations like this. They must have known that he was going to be out a fair while longer but it has not stopped them from complaining. Vorm did indeed put in a performance well below expectations and the question over whether Pochettino should be throwing Paulo Gazzaniga into the first team once again, with just one appearance to his name so far, must be asked. Quite frankly though, the man in goal should not have too much of an impact against Brighton this weekend, for it is the men in front of him who are set to be tasked with keeping the Seagulls at bay and putting them to the sword. If the club are relying on their goalkeeper to save them points every week, then something is going wrong and it needs to be addressed.
