A section of Tottenham fans have called for Victor Wanyama to be reinstated into the team after the international break.
The central midfielder returned from injury to take a place on the Spurs bench for their Sunday Premier League defeat to Watford after a year plagued by injuries.
Many Spurs supporters are keen for the powerful Kenya international to slot straight into the starting XI for the clash against Liverpool next week.

COMMENTARY:
Wanyama has become something of a forgotten man at Spurs after a wretched 12 months that began with a knee injury sustained in August of last year. He missed half of last season and could not get going in the second half of the campaign, when Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele blocked his path to a regular starting role. Niggles and knocks, and form issues, have combined to block his progress, and another pre-season knee injury has meant he has not had a single minute of action this season. Tottenham fans are keen for that to change. The midfield destroyer had a dream debut season after joining from Southampton for £11million in the summer of 2016, forming a potent central partnership with Dembele. Wanyama is a powerful anchorman who protects the defence as if his life depends upon it. How Spurs could have done with a player of that ilk as they sank to defeat against Watford.
I really miss a fit and healthy Victor Wanyama. He’s just a pure destroyer and he was brilliant for us in 16/17. I want him back.

Think its a bit unfair on him. Changed the game when he came on at newcastle and also fulham with him and Lamela. We had 1 centre midfielder against two big guys….we need a fit and firing Wanyama back so we don`t get bullied…Winks also played well in the 5mins he was on

Honestly believe if we had him on the pitch yesterday when going ahead we see that game out comfortably, and end up going on to score more by hitting Watford on the counter-attacking.
Honestly think both him and Dier’s absence in yesterday’s match have been massively overlooked.

Wanyama was so imperious that year. If he only we could give him Sissoko’s knees ????

Wanyama needs to start next game with Winks, Dembele just can't do it anymore past 45min.

I rate him but Wanyama is on a different level. In that 16-17 season he was dropping 9/10s against big teams and in the CL consistently

Don't think a back 3 works for Spurs anymore. Best lineup would be any 2 CBs with Wanyama partnering Moussa in the centre. Trips cannot be dropped whatsoever. Rose plays better as a LB than a LWB. And lastly, Paulo G must deputise henceforth if Hugo misses any games. #COYS pic.twitter.com/TRNPvbRE9Z

Dembele becomes a player that is useful for last 15-20 minutes of the game imo. I don't know what formation we will play now but I just want to see Winks playing alongside with Wanyama. 4-3-3 with midfield W-W-E, Moura, Alli, Kane playing higher would be nice to see.

Agreed. Really don't like the decision to have Dembele as our most defensive midfielder, just not as effective as Dier/Vic defensively and it showed on their 2nd goal where he lost Cathcart.
