A section of Tottenham fans took to Twitter to rave about Danny Rose for his performance in their team’s 2-1 Premier League win over Brighton on Saturday night.
Rose was recalled to the starting XI for the Wembley clash and created the winning goal for Erik Lamela with a pinpoint cross from close to the byline with 14 minutes remaining.
Many Spurs supporters were thrilled with the display from Rose, with comments including “phenomenal”, “doing bits” and “back to his best”.

COMMENTARY:
How Spurs fans have longed for a performance like this from Rose. The defender slept-walked through last season and appeared on his way last month but did not get the move that he had been pushing for after the breakdown in talks with various clubs, including some from the Continent. Rose had worked his way back into the starting XI on a few occasions this season, but looked rusty and off the pace against Manchester United and Liverpool. Restored to the team as Mauricio Pochettino made three changes to his defence against Brighton, Rose was full of life on the left flank as he delivered a dynamic display that recaptured memories of his 2015-16 glory days. The lung-busting run and cross to tee up Lamela for the second was proof of a much-improved display, as well as his defending that was more reliable than it has been. Little wonder Tottenham fans were claiming the 28-year-old was back to his best.

Big Win! Rose was excellent and Lamela was bright. Still thought we looked vulnerable on set pieces and dier was disappointing. Definitely some positives though #coys #THFC

Far too nervy at the end but happily take that, Rose and Dier superb, Gazzaniga done what was asked onto the next one #COYS

Also, from what little I saw of the match, Rose looks like he’s slowly getting back to his old self. Let’s keep giving him games and get behind him because if he gets back to 15/16 Rose, then we’ll have one of the best LB’s back. #COYS

Lamela great from the bench again!!! Gazzaniga looks to give the defence much more confidence and Danny rose looked very good!!! Still not the best performance but more positives to come from that than the last 3 performances #COYS
