BT Sport pundits Jermaine Jenas, Glenn Hoddle and Chris Sutton are all in agreement over who they’d pick out of Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah, with all three plumping for the Spurs striker.

The three ex pro’s were asked by Robbie Savage who they’d pick out of the England captain and the man who beat him to the Premier League golden boot last season.

“When both are on fire, Harry Kane,” Jenas told Savage on BT Sport. “Kane, Kane without a doubt. Over a long period of time you go for Harry Kane.” said Hoddle. “Kane,” Sutton replied.

The only dissenting voice in the studio was Steve Sidwell who went for Salah, although the former midfielder seemed split on his pick.

OPINION

Who’s better Harry Kane or Mohamed Salah is one of life’s unanswerable questions, similar in difficulty to trying to decipher the meaning of life. It’s a matter of personal preference, really. Both men are capable of providing an absurd amount of goals and moments of brilliance to any team. It’s down to whether you admire Kane’s obsessive thirst for goals more than Salah’s unbelievable natural ability. The two men are of similar age, Kane is 25 while the £200,000-per-week Liverpool man [Source: Spotrac] is 26. So there’s no real long term advantage in taking one player over the other, the pair will most likely continue to flourish for roughly the same time as each other. The deciding factor, ultimately, is that Kane has proven himself over multiple seasons and at this summer’s World Cup in Russia, while Salah can only hold up last year’s sensational season as evidence of his world-beating quality.
