Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons is the target of a Bulgarian club looking to launch a last minute loan swoop for his services, according to reliable journalist Lee Ryder.

The Chronicle reporter, a reputable source of information surrounding the Magpies, claims on his personal Twitter account the 22-year-old has been pulled out of the under-21 side to play Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Trophy clash on Tuesday evening as the unnamed European outfit look to take him in a surprise last minute temporary switch.

While many European transfer windows have shut, FIFA TMS state that the Bulgarian market, which has been open from mid-June, is set to be open until Thursday, 6 September.

Good move for Newcastle?

Having left the winger out of their Premier League squad, it looks as though this move, or perhaps another, was on the cards before the squads had to be submitted.

He seemingly has no part to play in the Magpies’ season – before January, at least – and so getting him whatever game time they can is good for both them and the forward himself.

Bulgaria is hardly the epicentre of quality football but they still have a number of clubs known on the European stage such as Levski Sofia and Ludogorets, both of which have competed in the likes of the Europa League and Champions League over the years.

Likely to happen?

With no game time coming his way on Tyneside, Aarons’ exit options are limited and with Bulgaria one of the few transfer markets still open, it seems he may be forced to make a decision.

Newcastle seem happy to let him go, the unnamed side want him and so the decision lies solely in the hands of the 22-year-old.

He does not have long to make his mind up either, so expect this one to go through quickly if he says yes.
