Newcastle United lost 2-1 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening, and fans on Twitter have been quick to slam Ki Sung-yueng for a poor performance.
Raheem Sterling opened the scoring early before a DeAndre Yedlin equaliser gave Newcastle hope, but a stunning strike from Kyle Walker took City ahead again in the second half.
Many Newcastle fans have been quick to destroy 29-year-old Ki for another lacklustre display in midfield, with the South Korea international failing to impress so far for the club.

Perez. Not a winger. Not a forward. No strength. Ki , not sure what he’s even doing. And Diame is a donkey. That is all. #NUFC

OPINION
These Newcastle fans do not hold back in their criticism of Ki, and it is clear to see why. The South Korea international was woeful against City, and did little to suggest he should be starting for the Magpies. The sooner that Jonjo Shelvey gets fit again the better, with it being hard to see exactly what Ki offers in midfield. His passing is poor, he is weak in the tackle, he doesn’t have much pace and his positional sense looks off. Maybe it is just early days in his time at the club, with the 29-year-old definitely showing signs of quality during his time at Swansea, but things need to change quickly or he will be resigned to a reserve role for the season. Overall it was a very commendable performance from the Magpies, who did well to keep City at bay for much of the match. There is no getting away from how hard their start to the season has been, but there are definitely positive signs there.
