Former Manchester United player Paul Scholes has delivered a scathing jibe on his old club following their 3-1 loss to West Ham United on Saturday.
United were subjected to a defeat at the hands of the Hammers at the London Stadium thanks to goals from Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko and Marko Arnautovic.
Marcus Rashford hit back for the visitors, but Scholes has not held back in his damning verdict of the Red Devils, saying it is as “bad as you’ll see from a Man United team.”

“It’s as bad as you’ll see from a Man United team for quite some time. We spoke about attitude before the game, it’s been questioned in the last three or four weeks, and today it has been questioned again,” he said on BT Sport.
“The hunger and desire for the game just wasn’t there. But you’ve got to give West Ham credit today, I thought they were fantastic.”
OPINION
Scholes certainly has not held back in his verdict of Manchester United here – but rightly so. They were woeful, and deserve all of the criticism that they can get. United were a shadow of the team compared to Scholes’ day, and they should be ashamed that they performed in such a way. He is spot on though – it is as bad a display that you will see from this team for a long time. It remains to be seen what is exactly the problem, but whatever it is, Jose Mourinho will need to address it quickly, otherwise he will be out of the door before Christmas. The fans deserve more than they got on Saturday, and it is up to the players to get their heads down and churn out the performances that we all know they are capable of. That being said, West Ham were excellent – and that should not be taken away from them after their magnificent performance.
