With summer signing Richarlison currently absent due to a suspension, it is safe to say that Everton need some help in the attacking department.

At the moment, they have Dominic Calvert-Lewin filling in for the £40 million rated star, but he definitely needs a player who can help share the burden of scoring.

Step forward striker Fraser Hornby, who has enjoyed a rather successful spell of late.

On Thursday night, the 18-year-old netted a hat-trick for the Scotland Under-21 side in their 3-0 win over their Andorra counterparts.

He may be very young, but Everton must give him a shot to prove himself in the Premier League after such a composed performance.

Some may argue that 18 is too young to make a senior debut, but in Hornby’s case, it definitely is not – after all, he is bound to learn fast by being thrown in the deep end.

Playing him in top-flight matches would do him the world of good, and it would also benefit Everton and their hit and miss start to the season.

Apart from Richarlison, the Toffees do not provide any sort of attacking threat, and they certainly cannot rely on the Brazilian to deliver the goods all of the time.

Hornby is just the player to share that burden, and the prospect of him leading the line along with the likes of Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison must have Marco Silva rubbing his hands together in delight.

The best way to help a young player progress is by starting them early, and Hornby can only build upon the potential that he already has.

He can be a fantastic asset to Everton if he is given the right guidance, and Silva must hand him his first team chance to propel the side to the next level.
