Arsenal boss Unai Emery is one of many senior figures at the club growing increasingly angry with the uncertainty surrounding the future of chief executive Ivan Gazidis, according to The Times

The newspaper report that the Gunners senior management team are keen to be given clarity on Gazidis’ future after he was offered a position at AC Milan.

The Times claim that the club believe they will manage without Gazidis despite his huge influence in a raft of recent changes at the club, but his departure is said to be a potentially huge blow for Emery, who got the job after Gazidis recommended him.

It is said that Gazidis has been offered a stake in Milan after the Serie A club were taken over by a hedge fun run by his friend Paul Singer over the summer.

OPINION

It is not surprising to hear that Emery and the other senior staff at Arsenal are frustrated with Gazidis leaving the club in such a state of uncertainty. The chief executive has been at the forefront of all the major changes that have been made at Arsenal over the past few months, and to lose him so soon after those changes would be a huge blow. Getting some clarity on the situation would be useful for all involved, but it looks like Gazidis is yet to make his decision on the move. It does look to be a tempting offer for him, with his friend at the helm and a stake in the club being offered. That being said, to leave Arsenal after making so many promising changes would also be a blow, and he would be giving up a lot if he did leave. It will certainly be interesting to see what happens in the coming weeks, and how his decision affects the club on the pitch in the months after that.
