Swansea striker Oli McBurnie has been raving about Kyle Lafferty after the Rangers star scored a crucial equaliser in the 2-2 draw with Villarreal on Thursday night.
The Light Blues defied the odds to earn a point in Spain and kick off their Europa Legaue group stage campaign with a positive result courtesy of second-half goals by Scott Arfield and Northern Ireland international Lafferty.
Rangers-mad McBurnie was full of praise for Lafferty via his personal Twitter account on Thursday night, calling the ex-Hearts star an “absolute legend”.

Lafferty’s equaliser against Villarreal will not be forgotten in a hurry by the Rangers fans who travelled to Spain this week. It was truly fantastic second-half display by the Gers and they will take a lot of encouragement from avoiding defeat in what is arguably their hardest Europa League group stage fixture. Lafferty may not have had the best of games throughout the 90 minutes, but the Northern Ireland international sure knows how to pop up on the big occasions. It will still be hard for Rangers to get through this group, but they have to make the most of their home fixtures and aim for seven points. Rapid Vienna are not going to be easy and everyone knows that Spartak Moscow will be one of the favourites to qualify. Pick up home wins against them and maybe another draw away from home, then who knows. Rangers could very much be in the hat for the next round of the competition.
