Aston Villa have been handed a triple boost with attackers Yannick Bolasie, Albert Adomah and Scott Hogan all closing in on full fitness, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The regional newspaper report that summer signing Bolasie is likely to be available to face Blackburn Rovers this weekend after getting up to speed with his fitness over the international break.

The Mail claim that Adomah is expected to be in contention against Rovers after a back spasm saw him miss out on Villa’s 4-1 loss to Sheffield United last time out.

It is said that striker Hogan is also closing in on a return after a groin injury, with the 26-year-old now training with the squad having not yet featured this season.

OPINION

This triple boost is massive for Aston Villa as they prepare for the Championship to return after the early season international break. The signing of Bolasie on loan from Everton was seen as a big coup for the Villans, and to have him available against Blackburn will make Bruce’s life a whole lot easier. The former Crystal Palace winger has not hit the heights of his early Premier League career in recent seasons, but his quality is undeniable, and it will be exciting to see what he can produce in the Championship. Adomah is already a proven asset for Villa, and the return of the winger will be massively welcome for Bruce, especially after he missed out on their embarrassing loss to the Blades before the break. Hogan is another player who the club have missed this season so far, but the 26-year-old will admittedly have his work cut out for him to get back into the side, with players like Tammy Abraham and Jonathan Kodjia likely to be ahead of him in the pecking order.
