Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that Leeds United will maintain their unbeaten start to the season at home to Birmingham City on Saturday, forseeing a 2-0 result between the two clubs.

The Whites welcome Birmingham to Elland Road on the back of a well-deserved 3-0 victory over Preston North End on Tuesday, which ensured that they continued their excellent run of form in the Championship.

In light of this, Prutton has backed Marcelo Bielsa’s men to come away with all three points from this weekend’s clash, whilst raving about Leeds striker Tyler Roberts for the way he stepped up to the plate with his two goals a few days ago.

In his predictions for Sky Sports, he said: “No Kemar Roofe or Patrick Bamford? No problem! Tyler Roberts, 19, was given his chance by Marcelo Bielsa up front and he well and truly took it with two goals against Preston on Tuesday night.

“Birmingham are still without a win in the Championship this season but they’ve now drawn their last four in a row and six in total to keep themselves out of the relegation zone. This ought to be a home banker.”

OPINION

It is hard not to agree with David Prutton and his prediction for Leeds’ next clash with Birmingham City. With the form that they are currently in, it is hard to forsee any other result other than a win for the Whites. They ripped Preston to shreds on Tuesday – and against a team who have kept themselves just outside of the relegation zone, they are sure to replicate the same fate. Even though Leeds are missing the likes of Kemar Roofe, they are more than capable of sweeping City to one side and claim all three points. It would be a huge surprise to see Birmingham even claim a point here, so they must be sweating at the prospect of facing a team currently unbeaten. Tyler Roberts will be full of confidence following his brace on Tuesday, and that is the one thing that will strike fear into Leeds’ opponents. The ace will be eager to add to that tally and cement his place in the first team – and there is no doubt that he will be just as impressive as he was against Preston.
