Marcelo Bielsa named his starting XI for the Championship game against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night and some fans are delighted to see forward Jack Clarke on the bench.

He is still to make his debut for Leeds and one fan said he hopes it’s comfortable tonight so he can come on.

The young striker replaces Ryan Edmondson with the starting XI remaining unchanged from the team that lost to Birmingham.

The team news was announced on the official Leeds Twitter page ahead of the 7.45pm kick-off.

Some Leeds supporters might be less pleased to see goalkeeper Bailey Peaccock-Farrell keep his place after a couple of mistakes led to goals last week, but it would have been harsh to drop him.

Here are the best reactions from expectant Leeds fans:

Other fans were bemoaning the injuries, with Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe still out, while another fan said it was a good line-up and that he hoped the “beasting” Bielsa dished out would mean an improved performance.

OPINION

Leeds lost their unbeaten record in the Championship last weekend when they lost 2-1 to Birmingham. To rub salt in the wound, it was former manager Garry Monk who went home with the points. Leeds are still top of the Championship, with that all-important two-point per game average, but it couldn’t be any tighter. Middlesbrough are on the same number of points, West Brom are just one point behind the both of them and Blackburn in 12th place are only four points off the pace. You can plummet down the table quickly in the Championship as Aston Villa have found out (13th) and Leeds found out after a fast start to the season last campaign. Sheffield Wednesday are no mugs either. They beat Aston Villa last time out and a win for the hosts tonight would draw them to within one point of Leeds. Getting something from the game is imperative, but three points would be a really welcome start to the weekend for Leeds fans, who could relax and watch the rest of the fixtures play out without any pressure.
