A number of Aston Villa supporters have turned to Twitter to call for the immediate return of John Terry after he broke the silence about his future on social media.
After much speculation about moving to Russian side Spartak Moscow, following him becoming a free agent this summer, the experienced defender took to his personal Instagram account to confirm that a contract had been offered but that he had turned it down, citing personal reasons behind his decision.
The statement led to numerous Villa fans begging for his return after his summer exit, with the Villans also linked with signing him back up.
This is Futbol has gathered a selection of the supporters’ tweets:

Opinion
Well this is a turn up for the books, and one which the Villa faithful are obviously desperate to take advantage of. However, would a return to Villa Park really be in the club’s best interests? He is going to be an expensive asset if he does return, and after the financial issues suffered over the summer the new owners will no doubt be wary of over-spending, especially when it comes to the likes of contracts. The supporters certainly seem keen to see their forme, r leader reunite with the squad and perhaps, while costly, the impact his arrival could have back in the midlands, both on and off the field is worth it. Steve Bruce evidently does need another centre back – as his experiment involving Mile Jedinak has proven already this season – and now it could well be a case of finding out if Terry is a viable option to plug the gap.
