A section of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to urge Brendan Rodgers to start Youssouf Mulumbu against Kilmarnock on Sunday.
It would be Mulumbu’s debut for the Hoops if he played in the Rugby Park fixture against his former side, and it does seem as though he could start with Olivier Ntcham suspended.
Some Hoops fans clearly feel as though it would be a good idea to start the former West Brom midfielder, especially as he is used to the controversial plastic surface at Rugby Park.

Give Mulumbu a run in place of Ncham -could do with some high press. dynamism !

Totally agree but sometimes I think we forget how young they still are. Give Ntcham a rest and bring in Mulumbu on Sunday as he’s used to that pitch. Griffiths got to get a run whether that’s on his own or maybe 2 up front? ??

OPINION
Even if Ntcham was not suspended this weekend, Rodgers should be looking to give Mulumbu a start against Steve Clarke’s side. The fan who pointed out that the former DR Congo international is used to the artificial playing surface at Kilmarnock has a very good point. The midfielder was brilliant for Killie last season while playing on it and he should be given the chance to prove his worth to the Hoops this weekend with a full debut. Ntcham’s form has dropped in the last few weeks as well. He was very poor against Rosenborg on Thursday night and could probably do with one or two games out of Rodgers’ starting line-up. It would be a shame if Mulumbu is overlooked for this tie because he is bound to be up for the contest and could be the driving force behind an impressive win. Rodgers does need to be careful with Mulumbu’s fitness though because over the last few years he has struggled to play consistently.
