Brendan Rodgers must start both Leigh Griffiths and Odsonne Edouard up front together if he wants to field his best possible team when Celtic play Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday.

The Hoops should also line up in a 3-4-1-2 formation, with Kristoffer Ajer returning to the defence if he is fit enough to play over senior defender Mikael Lustig, who must be axed.

Olivier Ntcham is suspended so Youssouf Mulumbu must earn his debut against his former side and Callum McGregor should also drop out so that Rodgers can fit both Griffiths and Edouard into his side.

Craig Gordon must start in goals behind Ajer, Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic in a three-man defence.

Kieran Tierney should play as the left wing-back, with James Forrest on the right, however he can push forward more with Ajer dropping in behind him if needed.

Scott Brown is a no-brainer to start in the centre of midfield alongside Mulumbu, who should be more than up for his debut for the Hoops after he was named on the bench against Rosenborg on Thursday.

Tom Rogic was off the boil in the 1-0 win over the Norwegians, but he should start in the No 10 role because starting behind two strikers in Griffiths and Edouard should mean that he is able to create plenty of chances and really put Steve Clarke’s side to the sword.
