TalkSport host Adrian Durham has torn into goalkeeper Michel Vorm in an epic rant about Tottenham players believing that they are better than they actually are.

Spurs’s 2-1 defeat to Inter Milan on Tuesday means that they have lost three games in a row for the first time during Mauricio Pochettino’s reign in North London.

And renown Arsenal fan Durham, who regularly airs his anti-Tottenham vitriol on TalkSport radio, has taken aim at several members of Pochettino’s squad, including senior goalkeeper Vorm for failing to be anywhere close to Hugo Lloris in terms of quality.

“Michel Vorm is told ‘you are second best to Hugo Lloris at a football club in the Premier League’. Since when? He’s nowhere near good enough,” said Durham, as quoted on the TalkSport website.

“Harry Winks. Pochettino said he could be England’s Andres Iniesta!

“If you start filling these players’ heads with nonsense like that, if you start telling them they’re flipping brilliant they’ll start believing it and it will go to their heads!

“And all of a sudden they’ll stop performing. Look at last night, they’re being found out!”

Davinson Sanchez, Harry Kane, Mousa Dembele, Ben Davies, Heung-min Son and Eric Dier were also targeted by Durham in his epic rant.

OPINION

You’d think Tottenham have just been relegated or something judging by this reaction. All good teams go through rough patches and this is just Tottenham’s rocky spell of form at the moment. They have lost to Watford, Liverpool and Inter Milan in the last few weeks and there is probably only one of them games that you would predict Spurs to be comfortable in. There is no denying that they have quality players but they just aren’t clicking together at the moment. Is it fatigue? Is it Pochettino making too many changes? Is it the lack of summer signings? It is probably a mix of all them things put together but this spell will end soon enough, especially as Spurs are more than likely going to get a win at Brighton this weekend. Ignore Durham, he is just bitter that his beloved Arsenal had to wait until Thursday to play in Europe.
