A section of Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to hail Mousa Dembele as vital to the team after he tweeted his delight at his role in Saturday’s 3-1 win against Fulham.
The Belgium international revealed on his personal Twitter account how much he enjoyed securing the three points against his former club at Wembley on Saturday.

Spurs fans took to social media in their droves to explain how glad they are Dembele is still at the club after being strongly linked with a summer exit, with one claiming it would have been “absolutely unthinkable” if he had left.

Does the brilliant Belgian still have it? Oh, yes. In spades. And the fans who follow the team week in, week out know that better than most. Dembele did not start either of Tottenham’s opening two league matches of the season, but he played crucial roles in both victories by coming off the bench to give the team control of the midfield with his unique combination of power and guile. The Belgium international came on as a 63rd minute substitute for Davinson Sanchez with the score against Fulham locked at 1-1 and helped his side overcome a fightback from their London rivals to secure an ultimately convincing triumph. Now 31, Dembele may not start as many matches this season as he has in the past but he remains a vital member of the squad who Mauricio Pochettino can trust to deliver the goods in the demanding arenas of the Premier League and Champions League. As the supporters make clear, he is irreplaceable.
