Some Nottingham Forest fans raved about winger Joe Lolley after he impressed them with his latest display against Birmingham City.
The 26-year-old winger started the game on the bench against Garry Monk’s side but upon replacing Sam Bryam in the 74th minute of the match, he had fans quickly praising him.
Lolley scored shortly after entering the game to pull a goal back for his side to make it 2-1 and aided his team’s quest to pick up a point from their latest outing as they went on to draw the game 2-2.
One fan tweeted that the right-sided winger looked class while another was relieved that Forest had player like Lolley to call upon.
This Is Futbol has rounded up some of the best tweets about Lolley’s latest display:
Fan of Ben Watson but he was easily their best player today. Felt an odd atmosphere too. Worth it for that Joe Lolley strike though. Ooooussshhh. #nffc

Still must be a reason for him starting in the side though! I agree wasn’t good enough but neither were the whole team. Think Karanka got it wrong today. Lolley and Carvalho looked class when they came on and injected a bit of lacking pace and urgency

Murphy scored today but did little else. Must hold it up better. Watson was 2 yds off it and the full backs were iffy. Osborn made a big difference as did Carvalho and Lolley…. had all that was missing all over the pitch- energy. #nffc

Now the dust has settled AK has to pick the bones out of that performance. Osborn has to start at LB, Colback and Watson cannot play together, Hefele and Dawson need to come in at CB, and Lolley needs to start on the wing #nffc

OPINION
Lolley certainly has the supporters’ vote about starting the next game for Forest as many insisted that he don’t start the next fixture on the bench. It’s easy to see why they feel that way as it’s hard to disagree with fans who claimed the 26-year-old winger made a big difference upon entering the game. Aside from the fact Lolley scored a beautiful goal just 15 seconds after coming off the bench in the 75th minute of the match to help Forest go on to earn a draw, he generally looked lively. The winger brought energy and enthusiasm to the game which some of Forest’s players seemed to lack on Saturday. Given that Karanka side’s next two fixtures look tough with Newcastle United and Brentford to face in the upcoming week then the manager must surely make the smart decision and unleash Lolley. While the Forest boss may rest the winger against the Magpies as the League Cup may not be his priority, he surely has to choose him to face Brentford.
