Dendoncker to undergo Wolves medical

|

Belgium international Leander Dendoncker is set to undergo a Wolves medical later today as he jets in to finalise a £12million transfer, according to a reliable journalist.

Wolves expert Tim Nash reported on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon that the Anderlecht midfield anchorman will arrive at the Premier League club’s Compton headquarters for talks and medical tests.

Nash explained that Wolves are set to pay a fee of around £12million for the six-times Belgium international.

Good move for Wolves?

Yes. Dendoncker would be a mighty fine signing able to walk straight into the starting XI and immediately make a difference. The Anderlecht academy product has made his name in Belgium with some outstanding performances en route to winning two league titles as well as a host of admirers for his commanding displays in the centre of the pitch. Standing at 6ft 2in (source: Transfermarkt), he can also drop back and fill in at centre-back, and this versatility will make him a key man in the upcoming season. Dendoncker can combine with star man Ruben Neves to form a partnership of power and precision in the centre of the pitch as Wolves look to establish themselves in the Premier League upon their return.

Likely to happen?

It appears this is virtually a done deal. Assuming there are no late hiccups over terms or the medical, and no rival steps in to hijack the deal, then Wolves are likely to unveil Dendoncker as a marquee new signing either tonight or, more likely, tomorrow morning.
