Celtic striker Moussa Dembele has agreed contractual terms with Olympique Lyonnais but the two clubs are yet to come to an agreement over his potential sale, according to journalist Bilel Ghazi.

The L’Equipe reporter has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the 22-year-old hitman has taken a step closer to the exit door at Parkhead by agreeing to the personal terms offered by the French side, but that the major hurdle of the clubs agreeing a fee is still to be cleared.

The six foot tall (source: Transfermarkt) striker has already scored three goals in six appearances this season, and has a contract which runs until 2020.

Opinion

Lyon have had to work fast over this one, seemingly coming in late to try and capture Dembele’s signature. With the transfer deadline on Friday (31 August) they have had no time to waste, and they seem to be doing everything they can to try and get this deal over the line. Dembele agreeing terms to an exit, which has been done before the clubs agree a fee to quicken things up, does not mean that he is guaranteed for the exit door at Parkhead. If Celtic are not happy with what the French side are offering up in negotiations then there is no way he will be allowed to leave, having played a key role in the club’s recent success. It would also leave the Hoops looking very light up top and unless a replacement could be sourced to fill the big boots Dembele would leave behind, it is unlikely the Bhoys would be happy to let him go, no matter how much money is on the table, for having cash in the bank is useless when you are missing one of your top attackers.
