Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa’s top target before the loan window shuts is a winger as he plots to bring in as many as three new signings before the deadline, according to journalist Phil Hay.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reporter states on his personal Twitter account that a new wide man is followed by a central midfielder and a centre back, with the latter a position that he may or may not look to strengthen before the end of the month.

English League clubs are permitted to make temporary signings until the end of August, with the full transfer window having shut last week, Leeds bringing in the likes of Patrick Bamford and Barry Douglas to strengthen their side.

Good move for Leeds?

Fans might not know exactly who Bielsa is targeting but the fact it is a winger should make them very excited indeed.

The Whites have looked tremendous in their opening games of the season, especially in attack, so to have the prospect of yet another new face to bring an added dimension should get those at Elland Road rubbing their hands together in glee.

However, not prioritising a centre back seems a strange move, with no one looking particularly settled with the way that the manager has set his team out to play from the back.

Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson have not convinced and so a new figure, one comfortable playing with the ball at his feet, would not go amiss.

Likely to happen?

Bielsa has half a month to source and sign new players and considering the way Leeds have been playing so far, they should have no trouble in convincing new recruits to make the move to Yorkshire.

Getting all three might be a tough ask of the transfer team, but there should certainly be one, if not two, new faces through the door before September comes around.

Who will it be? Fans will just have to wait to find out.
