West Ham are working on deals to sign four players from Portugal as Manuel Pellegrini’s signing blitz at the London Stadium continues, according to ESPN.

The news outlet claims that the Hammers have sent a delegation to the Iberian Peninsula, with talks underway to sign Porto duo Moussa Marega and Yacine Brahimi, Benfica attacker Joao Felix and Vitoria winger Xande Silva.

It is understood that Silva is undergoing a medical in Portugal before finalising his move to West Ham.

OPINION

West Ham mean business. They have already signed seven new players this summer but it looks as though they could be on to make that 11 with four players being eyed up from Portugal. Felix and Silva are most certainly younger players for the future that will bolster the Under-23s squad and hopefully break into the first team one day, but moves for Marega and Brahimi are big. Marega scored 22 league goals last season to fire Porto to the Liga NOS title and if he is able to replicate that in England, the Hammers may have found the man to spearhead their attack for years to come. Brahimi will also be a class signing as Manuel Lanzini is out sidelined with an injury on a long-term basis. The Algeria international has been one of Porto’s best players over the last few years and in 2017/18, he was involved in 22 goals across all competitions.
