West Ham are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Le Havre defender Harold Moukoudi, according to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol.

The reporter claimed on his personal Twitter account on Saturday that Moukoudi, 20 is due to join the Hammers in a deal worth £10.7million, which will take the club’s summer spending over £100million.

The 6ft 3in (transfermarkt) colossus will become the third centre-back signed by West Ham this summer, following Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena in moving to the London Stadium.

Good move for West Ham?

Moukoudi is a very highly-rated young centre-back from France who already has a good amount of experience under his belt.

He is yet to be tested in a top-flight having only featured for Le Havre in Ligue 2, but he has made a good account of himself in the 45 appearances he has made across all competitions for the club.

West Ham look as though they are getting themselves someone with a lot of potential who can only improve under the leadership of Manuel Pellegrini and with the facilities that will be available to him in the Premier League.

Likely to happen?

It seems as though this deal is very close to happening right now.

The Irons have been linked with a lot of players this summer and have already spent a lot on improving the squad.

Moukoudi seems as though he is more of one for the future, and he very much seems as though he will be a West Ham player in no time.
