A section of West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to slam Chris Brunt for his performance in the 4-2 win against Norwich at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Darren Moore picked Brunt, 33, to play in the centre of midfield once again, despite shocking displays in that role in the opening games against Bolton and Nottingham Forest.

And there was little, if any, improvement by the Northern Ireland international, who had an all-round shocker and conceded a penalty in the first-half that was saved by Sam Johnstone.

Some Albion fans were less than impressed with the senior player, with one saying that Moore is “clueless” to keep playing him in the centre of the midfield.

This is Futbol has rounded up some of the best tweets:

OPINION

It is a shame to see Brunt struggling so much this season. He is not, and has never been, a central midfielder and Moore must change how he is using the club captain otherwise it could see his long-term career at The Hawthorns end on a sour note. The Northern Ireland international has a mean left-foot and is a real asset at set-pieces, but aside from that, what else does he have to offer? It is certainly understandable that these West Brom fans have slammed him for his performance against Norwich, and they surely want Moore to change how he is using Brunt as well. There are natural centre-midfielders in this squad. Gareth Barry, James Morrison and Sam Field could all do a better job and hopefully the Baggies boss will try something new in the Carabao Cup clash with Luton Town in the coming days that will lead him to making changes for league games.
