West Brom manager Darren Moore is expected to ring the changes for his side’s Carabao Cup clash with Luton at The Hawthorns on Tuesday, with Kieran Gibbs heading a list of players likely to be axed.

Sam Johnstone, Allan Nyom, Matt Phillips, Chris Brunt and Jay Rodriguez could all be dropped or rested for the meeting with the League One club, who haven’t won against the Baggies since 1996.

Boaz Myhill and James Morrison could start for Albion after re-signing for the club in the summer. Oliver Burke and Gareth Barry have a chance of coming back into the side too while the trio of Tosin Adarabioyo, Conor Townsend and Dwight Gayle, who played in games away at Nottingham Forest and Norwich, are in contention to make their home debuts.

Myhill is expected to start between the sticks as he has played in most of West Brom’s early cup games during his time at The Hawthorns.

The Welshman could play behind a back four of Adarabioyo, Kyle Bartley, Ahmed Hegazi and Townsend, who comes in to replace £55,000-a-week (Spotrac) Gibbs after impressing on his debut at Norwich on Saturday.

In the midfield, Barry may return to the side to partner Jake Livermore after seeing Brunt struggle in his first three games of the season.

Burke is in contention to start on the right-wing in order to rest Phillips while Barnes could keep hold of his spot on the left wing due to a phenomenal start to his Baggies loan spell.

Morrison could play in the No 10 spot behind Gayle as Moore may give the Newcastle loanee the chance to continue settling into the squad by playing with as many of his new team-mates as possible.
