Juan Foyth, Victor Wanyama and Cameron Carter-Vickers have been ruled out of the Tottenham game with Fulham on Saturday.

The team news emerged from the Tottenham pre-match press conference on Thursday lunchtime.

There was some better news though as it was also confirmed that Wanyama had started outdoors training again, while Erik Lamela, Josh Onomah and Harry Winks had all resumed training.

OPINION

Pochettino will be glad to be getting Lamela, Winks and Onomah back into his squad, although none of the three are likely to start on Saturday. With Heung-Min Son out at the Asian Games and question marks over the fitness on some of his World Cup stars, Pochettino needs all the help he can get at the moment. Luckily, the Fulham game shouldn’t pose too much of a problem for his starting XI. They lost 2-0 at home to Crystal Palace in their first game back in the Premier League and anything but a routine win for Spurs would be seen as a major upset. Picking up maximum points will be a priority after being notorious for slow starts and with problems over the opening date of their new stadium, a strong start in the Premier League will take a lot of pressure off Pochettino and head honcho Daniel Levy.
