Rangers beat Maribor 3-1 in the Europa League qualifier at Ibrox on Thursday night, and fans flocked onto Twitter to hail late goal-scoring hero Lassana Coulibaly.

The 22-year-old midfielder has made four appearances for his new side since his loan move from Angers in the summer, and he opened his account at a crucial time for Steven Gerrard’s side.

And it’s got fans asking whether there’s a fee agreed to make the loan move permanent, with one fan say, ‘Get it done Gers’.

After letting in what could be a crucial away goal, Rangers were looking at having to defend a nervy 2-1 win in Slovenia next week, until Coulibaly scored in the 86th minute.

A margin of two clear goals puts Rangers back on top and, while the tie is far from over, fans were hugely indebted to him. And they were impressed by his overall form in the game at Ibrox last night.

Here are the best reactions from Rangers fans to their new summer signing:

OPINION

Coulibaly has made a big impression on the Rangers fans since signing on loan, and many of them are desperate for their side to make it permanent. The 22-year-old is contracted at the French side until 2021 and if he has a storming season it could see his value rise. Rangers fans are hoping there’s already a fee in place for a player who seems to have exactly what it takes to survive in the rough, tough world of Scottish football. He might have already started to pay that fee back with an absolutely crucial goal in the Europa League.
