Steven Gerrard has done some brilliant business this summer, but he might have saved the best until last.

The solid Rangers blog Four Lads Had a Dream claimed that the deal for Borna Barisic was set to be completed on Monday after the left-back completed his medical.

Most reports have cited the fee for the deal as £2.2million, which in itself would be a bargain.

However, Four Lads are rarely wrong with their info and they claim that the deal is set to go through for £1.8million.

They say it’s “stunning transfer business” and we absolutely agree.

Barisic impressed in the Europa ties for Osijek against Rangers and made the goal in the second leg that gave Rangers fans an almighty sweat.

And he’s been capped three times for the country that finished second in this summer’s World Cup.

He didn’t make the summer squad but he did play as recently as last year and he’ll be hoping that rangers can provide the springboard back into the national side.

There have been reports that Rangers beat English Championship clubs to his signature, which could go down as one of the biggest bargains of the summer, and it’s highly unlikely he’d be joining if it wasn’t for Gerrard.

As Four Lads said, getting a player like him for £1.8million is simply stunning transfer business.
