It looks like Lucas Perez could be on his way to West Ham on a permanent deal, with final terms being discussed, according to a club Insider.

ExWHUemployee, a Twitter account with very close and solid links to West Ham, made the claim on Monday morning.

He claimed that the move had switched to a permanent deal after initially being a loan enquiry.

Arsenal, however, only want to sell the striker who has flopped at the Emirates.

He did add that a move for Perez would depend on what happens with Bernard.

The Sun claimed that West Ham were looking to beat Chelsea to the Brazilian free agent.

Good move for West Ham?

A great move. It sounds like it depends on Bertrand but we think Perez would be a natural fit for West Ham. Pellegrini wants to play two up front and he needs an extra striker. Perez has a one-in-three record that stretches back a long way and he never really got a chance at Arsenal to prove what he can do in the Premier League. He’s got a point to prove to his former club and as an impact sub he can definitely do damage.

 Likely to happen?

With final terms being discussed this one looks like it’s in West Ham’s court, but they have another potential deal on the go in the shape of Bertrand. He would be a free agent and after lowering his wage demands West Ham might think he makes a better deal. However, Chelsea are after him too. So, it’s in the balance, but if West Ham want Perez then they can probably get him. We hope it happens.
