West Ham have to prove that they were worth the massive investment on Saturday, after a disappointing opening weekend defeat to Liverpool.

Pellegrini promised fast, attacking football, but came up against the masters last weekend and were smashed by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side.

This weekend should be a different proposition though. Bournemouth beat a very poor looking Cardiff side last weekend, but should be the sort of side that West Ham can blow away at home.

However, if they’re going to do that, they need to make two key changes. Firstly, they need to bring in Issa Diop and stick Fabian Balbuena on the bench. The south American will be the fall guy for last week’s hammering.

Then they need to bring in Andriy Yarmolenko in place of Michail Antonio. Yarmolenko comes armed with a frightening attacking record and him and Felipe Anderson need to wow the London Stadium, with Marko Arnautovic keeping Chicharito out.

Yarmolenko has scored 137 goals and registered 90 assits in his 340 games for Dynamo Kiev – now it’s time to prove the devastating destroyer can do it in the Premier League.

This is the team that Pellegrini needs to field if he wants to emulate the score from last week:
