Some West Ham supporters on social media were shocked as Manuel Pellegrini opted to start Robert Snodgrass against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Hammers fans will be hoping to record a better result against the Cherries then they did against Liverpool last weekend as Jurgen Klopp’s side handed them a heavy 4-0 defeat.

However a selection of supporters weren’t feeling overly positive about their chances of success due to Pellegrini opting to start Snodgrass however others were convinced that the 30-year-old would be able to aid his side’s cause.

Snodgrass has only made a total of 16 appearances for the Hammers despite joining them from Hull City in January 2017.

OPINION

Hammers supporters know that a lot of their players are new to the club following their side’s big summer spend and need time to settle into life at the London Stadium. However fans will not accept another woeful display from their team like the one they witnessed last Sunday when their side were destroyed by a very impressive Reds team. Although it seems lot of supporters are surprised that Pellegrini believes Snodgrass is the answer when it comes to improving his side. The right-sided winger, who earns £40,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac), had fans arguing about his credentials with one boldly stating that if anyone is moaning about his selection then they ain’t got a clue. Snodgrass, who spent last season in the Championship on loan at Aston Villa, clearly must have impressed the Hammers manager in the game against Liverpool last weekend after he replaced Declan Rice in that outing. Only time will tell whether Pellegrini was right to start the experienced player.
