Promising Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers must be loaned to Swansea City ahead of Ipswich Town with both Championship sides keen to take him on loan.

Sun reporter Alan Nixon reported via his personal Twitter account that both Championship clubs were in the hunt to borrow the services of Spurs’ 20-year-old centre back and it’s clear Mauricio Pochettino should lean towards the Swans winning the race for him.

While Carter-Vickers will no doubt settle to life quicker at the Tractor Boys having played for them last season as Spurs opted to loan him to them in the second half of the 2017/18 campaign.

Yet that was when Mick McCarthy was in charge of the club and the club looked like being potential promotion hopefuls.

Given that Ipswich have failed to win any of their four games of the new season so far, it looks like they’re in for rough campaign and not something Carter-Vickers should be exposed to when he has a better option to take.

Despite having a depleted squad Swansea City look like a team that potentially could instantly bounce back to the Premier League at the first time asking as they have played three games so far without suffering a defeat.

The Swans love to play a passing style and this could see Carter-Vickers become more comfortable on the ball which will add his quest to eventually break into Spurs’ first-team.

The 20-year-old showed that he was a physical presence and tough in the tackle when on loan at Ipswich and Sheffield United last season but could do with adding some strings to his bow in order to grab Pochettino’s attention.

Also as the Swans are currently in the care of Graham Potter who appears to be an exciting manager with unique methods, Carter-Vickers could learn a lot from working with him.

The powerful centre-back is also destined to get a decent amount of playing time at the Liberty Stadium as there isn’t overly too much competition standing in his way and Carter-Vickers has Championship experience which could give him an edge.

Therefore this means Pochettino should practically drive the promising centre-back to the Swans in order to see him flourish.
