Tottenham defender Danny Rose is facing a nervous wait about whether he can successfully secure an exit from the club after Paris St Germain boss Thomas Tuchel hinted that his side were keen to recruit him.

The English left-back, who currently earns £60,000-a-week(Source: Spotrac), is no doubt very aware that in order to be regularly play football in his 2018/19 campaign than he needs to leave Spurs.

This is shown by the fact that Rose is yet to feature for his side this season after not being in the squad for the game against Newcastle United and being an unused substitute against Fulham last weekend.

It also likely that the left-back realises it’s time to pack his bags as Mauricio Pochettino is even believed to be willing to sanction his exit, as reported by the Daily Mail, despite not being able to bring in a replacement which shows how unneeded the manager deems him.

Yet despite being openly available Sky Sports reported on Friday that Rose was looking increasingly likely to stay at Spurs until at least January as PSG appeared to be front-runners for his signature and they have prioritised the capture of Atletico Madrid’s Filipe Luis ahead of him.

If the French giants successfully sign Luis then they will have no need to move for Rose and while he has been linked to several other clubs this summer, there doesn’t appear to be anyone else close to coming in for his services.

This means at this current stage the 28-year-old’s best chance of securing his exit from Spurs anytime soon in order to regularly play football is if PSG submit an offer for his services.

However there is a chance that scenario develops as PSG boss Tuchel opted to hint that he was impressed by Rose and that he could indeed be a potential player they moved the sign.

“I will not comment on transfer rumors,” said the high-profile manager, as quoted by The Sun.

“I will simply say that I came up against Tottenham Hotspur three years ago and it took me three days to work out how best to combat him (Rose).”

“I hope that our transfer window is not closed, we need players in a few positions.

“I trust the club and our sporting director [Antero Henrique] to find solutions, 50million Euros (£45million) on one player is a lot of money.

“Still, it is a money issue and I do not know more than that.”

Therefore given that PSG still appear to have Rose in their thoughts following Tuchel’s hint about their interest in the Spurs defender, it seems the only thing clear about his future is that he faces a nervous wait over whether a team successfully sign him ahead of the window shutting at the end of this month.
