Martin Keown has predicted a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford on Monday night, despite Spurs not scoring a goal or winning a point at Old Trafford since he’s been manager.

He said that statistic will be playing on the Tottenham players’ minds but he still thinks they’re good enough to come away with a point.

Writing in his column in the Mail, Keown said: “Spurs have not scored a goal or picked up a single point at Old Trafford under Mauricio Pochettino. That will be playing on the players’ minds on Monday night.

“I can see this being a cracker. There will be a reaction from the Old Trafford faithful after the Brighton defeat and they will be expecting United to attack.

“With the likes of Lukaku, Pogba and Rashford they have players who can hurt Tottenham.

“The problem is that their central defensive partnership looks loose. They do not seem solid or confident.

“For that reason I’m going for a 2-2 draw.”

OPINION

The Old Trafford faithful will be in loud voice on Monday night for their first blockbuster game of the season. Losing to Brighton was a shock but losing another one to title rivals Tottenham would be a massive blow and would heap pressure on Jose Mourinho. He pinpoints Eric Bailly and Victor Lindeloff as the weak points of the United team and it’s hard to argue with that after the game against Brighton. Mourinho doesn’t have a whole lot of options and Tottenham will be convinced they’ve got enough in attack to damage them. This is also the first test of Tottenham’s title credentials as well, although they’ve had a perfect start to the season so far. A win against United and nine points from nine would vindicate Pochettino and Daniel Levy, who said they couldn’t buy anyone over the summer who would improve their squad. A loss to their rivals and those words might come back to haunt them.
