Newcastle United have agreed a loan fee of £805,000 (€900,000) to send Henri Saivet out on loan to Super Lig side Bursaspor with the midfielder having already passed his medical, according to Olay.

The Turkish publication claim on their website that the Magpies outcast has undergone all the necessary tests and is set to join training later this evening (Thursday, 16 August), with his new side paying a six-figure fee to seal his capture from St James’ Park.

The Senegal international was sent out on loan during the second half of last season after making just four appearances across all competitions for Newcastle, turning out 12 times for Sivasspor.

Good move for Newcastle?

Not particularly, for this really should be a permanent move rather than a temporary switch.

Saivet evidently has not got a future on Tyneside so why they have been unable to ship him out, having sent him on loan last season as well, is baffling.

It is not like Rafael Benitez is likely to have a sudden change of heart and bring him back into the first team set up, so why do they feel keeping him contracted to the club is a good idea?

Still, it is money in the bank for the Spaniard, and that could go some way to helping boost his coffers for when the January transfer window comes around.

Likely to happen?

This one seems to be an absolute certainty, with the medical having gone through and the player set to link up in training.

This summer has seen a number of moves fall through at the final hurdle, but this looks to have cleared it and is on its way to the finishing line.
