Everton striker Sandro Ramirez is set to leave the club on loan before the transfer window shuts on Friday, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper claim on their live transfer blog (Tuesday, 2.03pm) the Spanish front man is set for the exit door after being given the green light to depart for the campaign by manager Marco Silva.

Real Sociedad lead the race to capture Ramirez amid the likelihood of a second consecutive loan spell in his native Spain following his 2017-18 spell at Sevilla.

Good move for Everton?

Yes. Everton have not been shy of moving out their flop signings of the last two years and there have been a flurry of attacking exits this summer, most notably Wayne Rooney, Yannick Bolasie, Davy Klaassen and Nikola Vlasic. A prolific scorer in La Liga in 2016-17, Ramirez has been a huge disappointment in a blue jersey, scoring just a single goal for the club. Handed a contract that Spotrac report to be worth £65,000-a-week (equivalent to £3.4million-a-year), Ramirez was one of the recruits that cost Ronald Koeman and Steve Walsh their jobs, and the arrivals of Richarlison, Bernard and Cenk Tosun this year have pushed him further down the pecking order, and seemingly on the verge of the exit door.

Likely to happen?

Espanyol, Celta Vigo and Nantes have all been linked with moves for Ramirez this summer, and it appears a return to Spain is firmly on the cards for the 23-year-old as Real Sociedad now move into the box seat. Given that he has not been named in the last two Everton matchday squads and Silva has given the green light for him to go, expect a loan deal to be done with a Spanish club by Friday night.
