Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons is the most likely player to leave the club before the deadline on Friday, according to reliable journalist Lee Ryder.

Ryder – who is best known the Chronicle’s chief United writer – revealed on his personal Twitter account that the 22-year-old’s exit could be on the cards soon, whilst also providing an update on three other players.

Defender Jamie Sterry and winger Callum Roberts’ potential exits are still in the works, who still need to find the right clubs who can assure regular game time.

Young goalkeeper Freddie Woodman could remain on Tyneside for the first half of the season at least, as no offers have been tabled to take the 21-year-old on so far.

Good move for Newcastle?

In regards to Aarons moving on, yes it would be a good move for Newcastle. He has hardly made the most positive impact during his six year stay at the club, which has already involved a loan.

Sterry and Roberts are both promising talents and could potentially challenge for the first team, but the pair moving temporarily would give them the experience needed to come back better players.

Woodman is at the bottom of the pecking order, so the fact he is the most likely player to stay will not make much of a difference to Newcastle’s goalkeeping department.

Likely to happen?

According to Ryder, Aarons looks to be the most likely player to exit at the moment compared to the other three mentioned.

A move is becoming increasingly unlikely to happen for both Sterry and Roberts ahead of the deadline, as they want clubs to provide them with the reassurances of playing time.

As for Woodman, a move is unlikely for him in this transfer window, and that does not look likely to change any time soon.
